What is a Chakra?
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel." This is because each Chakra looks like an energy wheel swirling in motion, moving in either an inward or outward direction. There are 7 main chakras in the human body and each one is directly connected to a part of your body: glands, organs, muscles and tissues.

Why Are Chakras Colorful?
Each chakra is a different color because it represents a different vibrational frequency. Let me take this into a deeper explanation. Working from lower body (Root) to upper body (Crown) the chakras follow the rainbow from red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, indigo, and purple or white. The root chakras are more more physical in nature and low vibrational, while when we move up to the crown, chakras are higher vibrational and etherial in nature.
What Is The Function Of A Chakra?
Each chakra controls one's behaviors, emotions, expressions and feelings. Each one is energy spinning outward and is said to be sending information out, while at the same time gathering information and bringing it back into the person. All this energy registers as what's happening in someone’s immediate environment. One way to look at it is the chakras function as energy detectors, and in another way they function as an energetic feedback loop of information.
Why Does This Matter to Me?
You may be wondering, what is the purpose of this feedback looping energy? The chakras project our inner reality which then becomes our external reality. This is how our life manifests based on how we feel on the inside. Have you ever felt positive about your day and then everything just went good that day? If we can understand the knowledge of the chakra system, we can apply it to ourselves and diagnosis our own illnesses instead of having to rely on someone else to tell us what is wrong. It's quite simple, the chakras are either balanced or imbalanced and always in flux. They are highly sensitive. And we are highly sensitive to their energy.

Take just 10 minutes and see how you can be proactive in healing your chakras. Choose one chakra to focus on at a time. Begin by closing your eyes and bringing your awareness to the location in the body where this chakra resides, then visualize the swirling ball of vibrant color. Feel the warmth of that colorful energy relax the muscles in that area of your body. Breath deeply, smoothly and softly into that area of your body.
